Dining and Picnicing in Tieton

Tieton IS at the end of the road, which makes it a quiet and relaxing destination. Tieton Park in the middle of town is a popular biking and picnic spot. Vickie's Tieton Cafe at the corner of Wisconin and Maple serves breakfast and lunch Wednedays through Sundays except holidays. Vickie Ennis has been serving up farmboy breakfasts and burgers for over forty years.
La Pechanga is usually open for lunch and Dinner. It's on Maple Street across from Tieton Park.
A few doors up Wisconsin Avenue is Santos Panaderia, a bakery and grocery store. His jalapeño and cream cheese rolls are especially tasty, and Juan has an entire array of freshly baked Mexican cookies and pastries. He has fresh produce, Mexican cheeses, and a growing inventory of local essentials. On Saturday mornings, Santos features fresh tamales to go. Pork, cheese, chicken, with very tasty salsa, but don't expect them to last past noon.
Between his shop and Gabriela's Carnicera on the corner of Elm and Wisconsin, you can put together everything you need for an excellent al fresco picnic. Robert's Grocery on the opposite side of the park has more basics.
If you drive around the orchards you may see active taco trucks. Don't hesitate to order from them. It'll be fresh and delicious fare.
If you are looking for a more complete grocery store, Cowiche Harvest Foods is impressive. From Tieton, it's only two miles down Summitview towards Yakima.
Naches has a number of excellent fresh fruit stands along Highway 12, including Thompson's Farm across the street from Slim's Market and the Liquor Store. In Naches, Margaret's Apple Cart Deli is a great spot for freshly homemade sandwiches. Naches has many fine businesses that can help make your visit pleasant and comfortable.
